Digication is the leading provider of ePortfolio and assessment management systems. Digication develops its platform with students, faculty, programs and institutions needs in mind, and enables institutions to close the loop that links student learning to institutional assessment and reporting.
#EmTechMOOC provides free access to the “New” Digication on under Open SUNY. You are welcome to use any available platform or tool to create your ePortfolio. Just a few of the many alternatives that are available to build your portfolio can be located through EmTechWIKI and searching the ePortfolio category.
Request an ePortfolio Account
There are a few different ways you can create an ePortfolio for #EmTechMOOC.
- If you are enrolled in #EmTechMOOC may Request a Digication Account under Open SUNY.
- If your institution has its own ePortfolio platform, we strongly recommend you make use of it. Not only will you develop more directly applicable skills, but you will have more direct access to the technical support provided.
- You may also select any potential ePortfolio platform from the numerous options that are available. Explore the ePortfolio tools in the EmTechWIKI Discover section to uncover a variety of tools suitable for creating ePortfolios.

Use the “Optional” #EmTechMOOC Digication Template
For those who are enrolled in #EmTechMOOC, you can get a jumpstart on the ePortfolio you need to create as part of the MOOC by using the #EmTechMOOC template, which is built into Open SUNY’s Digication. You are encouraged to customize this template in any way you’d like.
You need to Publish your ePortfolio every time you make any changes. You can select the blue “Publish Changes” button, but it is best to go to your main ePortfolio setting and select Publish Pages. If you use the #EmTechMOOC template, you will be prompted to accept the recommended permission settings the first time you publish. If you use the default Digication template, then you will need to go to the Settings menu to adjust permissions. The (2 minute) video tutorial and the images below show the process of publishing and setting permissions. The Digication Support website has additional information about publishing and how to set permissions in the New version of Digication.
The video below shows the steps needed to set permissions and publish an ePortfolio.
The following image shows the setting to make an ePortfolio public.
Use the Publish Pages menu to ensure all changes are published.
The easiest way to ensure your portfolio is viewable to the public is to either log out of Digication or switch to a different browser and then reload your portfolio to see if it displays.

Add Your Digital Badges to Your ePortfolio
If you’re using the New Digication, there’s now a Credly Badge Module to make it easier. You can add the Credly module to any page of your ePortfolio and then log in to your Credly account to select the badges you’d like to display. Each badge can be resized and positioned on the page using the module and resize tools allowing you to display your badges alongside examples of work and reflections on your skills and experiences. There are also more general instructions on how to claim and share your Credly badges in your ePortfolio and on your social media networks.
